Greetings from West Virginia!

Blue Ridge Plateau, NC
New River Gorge, WV

We are having an exciting time traveling through the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains!

The scariest part of the trip was the climb up Grandfather Mountain in Blowing Rock,
North Carolina.

In the midst of rain, fog, and road construction, we were only inches from plunging over
the side!

But the views are absolutely breathtaking, and I'm glad we chose this route.

  2. My husband and I drove to South Carolina for our honeymoon and we had a similar mountain road experience. Only difference? It was night! Those things are scary; and locals always drive them at the speed of sound. It's like they're trying to kill the folks who aren't used to it!

  3. Fearless & Citygirl: It really was a great trip, but I definitely had an anxiety attack on that mountain. We are back at our old home for a few months - a new challenge! Once we figure out how to get the water to work, it should get better. Jim got the internet service hooked up right away, so I'll post more after a day or two of resting up. Thanks for stopping by!
